Larry’s Not-for-Profit Work as a Professional and Volunteer

Professionally, he is an independent advisor on strategy, governance, and finance for not-for-profit organizations, serving also as Subject Matter Specialist at the Association of Governing Boards of Universities & Colleges.  Previous professional positions include Director of the Higher Education Practice at Grant Thornton LLP, Director of Budget & Financial Planning at Harvard University, Chief Financial Officer of the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, Dean of Administration at Tufts University, and Assistant to the President of Duke University.

Larry has served on the boards of the University of Massachusetts, Porter Foundation, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, Boston Architectural College, Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Development Corporation, Massachusetts Association of Nonprofit Schools & Colleges, and Civic Education Foundation. He also served for over twenty years on the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Advisory Committee on Not-for-Profit Organizations.
